About
The studio behind the tools. One person. Honest. Quietly stubborn.
CalmHQ Studio is an independent studio building small, honest tools for people figuring out money, psychology, and performance — without a roadmap, without being patronised, and without anyone trying to sell them a course.
The mission
Honest tools for the people schools forgot.
Schools don't teach money. They don't teach the gap between knowing better and doing better. They don't teach what your nervous system has to do with the decision you just clicked. So most people — millions of them — figure it out by losing money, failing at habits, or just quietly never quite getting there.
CalmHQ Studio exists because the founder spent twelve years and more than half a million pounds learning these lessons the expensive way, and built the studio to publish the tools that would have helped along the way — Verge for traders, calculators and templates for everyone else.
The studio is unapologetically small. There are no investors expecting hockey-stick growth, no team to pay, no funnel to optimise. There's one person shipping useful things on a sustainable cadence, funded by people who find the work helpful enough to pay for some of it.
Principles
How the studio actually ships. Stated plainly, kept publicly.
What we commit to
- 01Ship small things that work.
One useful tool, finished, beats ten ambitious ones half-done. Verge has one mode for v1.0 because trading deserves the full attention before anything else gets it.
- 02Tell the truth about money.
Money writing is full of cope and pretence. The studio tells the boring true version — the £500k story, the failed Notion business, the side projects that didn't ship — because the boring true version is what's actually useful.
- 03Free where it can be.
Calculators, templates, journal posts, this site itself — all free, no email gate. Paid resources exist for the work that takes real time to make. The free things stay free.
- 04No funnel. No engagement bait.
No exit-intent popups. No newsletter modal on every page. No 'subscribe to read more'. If the work is good, people will come back. If it's not, dark patterns don't fix that.
What we won't do
- 01No ads.
Network ads track users, look cheap on editorial sites, and contradict the studio's promise. Sponsorships from one curated brand per quarter — maybe, eventually. Google AdSense — never.
- 02No signal services or 'systems'.
The studio writes about trader psychology. It will not sell trading signals, 'algorithms', courses promising 80% win rates, or anything that requires lying to anyone.
- 03No false urgency.
No countdown timers, no 'only 3 spots left' on infinite digital products, no fake scarcity. If something genuinely is limited, that's what we'll say plainly.
- 04No data sold or shared.
Email addresses are used to reply to you and (if you opted in) to send the newsletter. They're not sold, traded, or used to train models. The privacy policy says this in long form.
Behind the studio
Before the studio, twelve years of trading. The short version is in this journal post; the long version is the entire studio. Half a million pounds is a lot of tuition. The least the studio can do is make sure other people don't have to pay the same fee.
The studio is a one-person operation. Mubeen handles everything — product, design, engineering, writing, customer email, the lot. That's a choice, not a constraint. Solo means decisions are quick, the output stays consistent, and there's nowhere to hide if the work isn't good.
Outside of the studio: occasional speaking on trader psychology, podcast guest appearances on finance / behaviour change shows, and a long-running interest in the intersection of physiology and decision-making. Get in touch via the contact page or the press kit.
